All this talk about El Niño has us excited for winter, even as temperatures soar in most parts of the country. Experts are claiming that this year’s storm could be one of (if not) THE strongest in the past 50 years.
We know, we know…. the prediction of an El Niño seems to surface every year and always falls flat. But this year… This year seems different.
According to the Weather Channel, there is a “strong El Niño possible” and it has an 80 percent chance of lasting until Spring 2016 and a greater than 90 percent chance of lasting through the upcoming winter. The peak of the weather phenomenon is typically between December and February - just when the mountains are thirsty for some fresh pow to cover their frozen slopes.
The forecast seems a lot more more promising than years past.
