Inspired by Nature: Driftwood

Effortless summer days full of warm light. Miles logged on hiking trails. The soft textures of wood, trees and bark weathered over time. This is the inspiration behind our new seasonal color, Driftwood.

A light, airy neutral, Driftwood captures the tones of the sun- and sea-bleached wood found along California’s coast and the alpine lakes in the Eastern Sierra.

Driftwood is an ode to all of our favorite tans in nature: the sandy, sagebrush-lined dirt roads in the Owens Valley, Eureka Dunes in Death Valley National Park, and the worn wood of trail signs in our local backcountry, the John Muir Wilderness and Ansel Adams Wilderness.

“Colors like this provoke soothing, comforting feelings as we’re all very familiar with seeing them around us,” said Merrill Worlund, Ridge’s product designer.

Driftwood is designed for the long, slow days of summer—it’s versatile, grounded and perfect for layering whether you’re trying to stay protected from the sun or settling in at home or at camp once the sun sets.
