Pack Less, Enjoy More

Trying to pack light for a trip? Merino wool is your answer. Since Merino wool is odor resistant, you can wear Merino clothes multiple times before washing. Simple styles can be worn for active days and dressed up for dinner or drinks out after.

Our Merino wool clothes perform just as well when traveling as they do in daily life, and they hold up to whatever activities you have planned once you get to your destination.

Merino Travel Clothing FAQs

  • Trying to pack light? Merino wool clothing is the answer. Our Merino wool clothing is odor resistant, breathable and temperature regulating, so it’s perfect for trips where you’re encountering changing weather or climates. Easily re-wear Merino clothes so you can pack less. Get our Merino travel clothing recs and packing lists for Argentina, Norway and more on our blog.

  • Merino is a huge help when it comes to packing light. Since our clothing is odor resistant, temperature regulating and packs down pretty small, it sets you up well for carry-on only travel. Our clothing is intentionally versatile so you can dress it up or down and wear it in a variety of settings, and you can get multiple wears out of every Ridge Merino piece you bring. See tips for streamlining your travel wardrobe with Merino wool.

  • Yes, Merino wool clothing works well for both hot days and frigid ones. All Merino wool gear is breathable, temperature regulating and moisture wicking, so even when temperatures change, you’ll stay comfortable in Merino clothes. Our lighter weight tees and hoodies are great for warmer climates, and our base layers and heavier weight mid layers work beautifully in cold climates. See how our Merino wool gear worked for a summer trip to Patagonia and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

  • Merino wool is one of the less wrinkle-prone fabrics, so it works well for travel. We recommend rolling it or folding it neatly before packing it in a suitcase or backpack. Like any clothing, the sooner you can get it hung up or put in a drawer, the better for wrinkles. If your clothing gets wrinkly, hang it up and steam it or leave it in a steamy bathroom for a few minutes for the wrinkles to fall out.

  • Thanks to Merino wool’s natural odor resistance, you can wear our clothes many times before you need to wash them. Unless you get them visibly dirty or stained, they’ll stay fresh for the length of most trips. The other benefit of Merino wool clothing when traveling is that it dries quickly, so in most climates you can machine wash or hand wash it, hang it up, and it’ll be ready to wear again the next day.

  • Many people buy our clothes for big days spent outside, but our travel clothes perform just as well in everyday life and on non-adventure trips. We wear Merino for everything, and our customers do too—for work travel, European city trips, beach getaways, cruises and more.
