Our Solstice Sun Hoodies have been tested at 35+ UPF in a lab. The UPF rating indicates the amount of UV rays that can pass through a fabric to your skin. A UPF of 35 allows 1/35th of UV rays to pass through (about 2.9%). Most people will find 35+ UPF provides plenty of sun protection even if they’re out in full sun all day.

While many people think of Merino wool as a cold weather fabric, lightweight Merino clothing performs well in hot weather. Our Merino wool fabric is lightweight, breathable, temperature regulating, moisture wicking and odor resistant, so it’s the perfect material for summer sun protection. For the most ventilation, our Solstice Pro Sun Hoodies have a quarter zip.

The newer Solstice Pro Sun Hoodie has a few extra features—a smaller hood with a low-profile hood cinch, a chest pocket and a half zip for more ventilation. Both have 35+ UPF.
