We love the outdoors and know the decisions we make today will impact our world tomorrow. In the apparel industry, sustainability is a long game... and one without perfect answers.
At every step, we focus on making responsible choices as we work toward redefining outdoor apparel by setting the standard for natural performance.
Our Supply Chain
All of our clothing starts with Merino wool: a natural, renewable and biodegradable fiber. From design through testing and sampling, we prioritize natural fibers while creating products that perform well and are built to last.
We make clothing with 100% Merino wool and Merino wool blends. While we use as much Merino wool as possible in every fabric, we sparingly use synthetic fibers to increase durability in lighter fabrics and add performance benefits.
Prioritizing People & The Planet
We work closely with our longstanding suppliers and manufacturing partners who share our commitment to responsible production. These relationships allow us to test new materials, reduce waste and incorporate more natural fibers over time.
We prioritize producing garments in the same facility or region as fabric production to reduce shipping impact.
Everything we make is free of forever chemicals, and most products are made with OEKO-TEX 100 Standard Certified fabric, meaning they contain no harmful substances, so they’re better for you, for the planet and for the people who make them.
Treading Lightly
Making sustainable choices goes beyond our supply chain. We keep packaging minimal and use materials that create less waste. We encourage customers to care for their gear, and we offer in-house repairs and replacement parts to help products stay in use longer.
Since opening our doors in 2014, we've been members of 1% For The Planet, donating 1% of our annual sales to environmental nonprofits. We've also worked to reduce our footprint at our headquarters, including becoming the first company in Mammoth Lakes, CA to achieve California Green Business Certification, while we continue looking for ways to do better.
Looking Ahead
We’re always looking for ways we can tread more lightly. We’re committed to sustainability for the long haul. We’re currently working on RWS wool certification, switching virgin synthetic fibers to recycled versions, and expanding our collection of fully biodegradable, all natural clothes.
