Ridge Supports BCPP's 2026 Climb Against the Odds

This June, 24 climbers made their way up Mt. Shasta in the 27th annual Climb Against the Odds, a fundraising expedition with Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP). We're proud to have supported this climb since 2018.

Since it started in 1995, this annual climb raises funds and awareness for BCPP's mission to eliminate toxic chemicals linked to breast cancer. We're proud to support this event by outfitting climbers with Ridge Merino base layers and sun hoodies. And in 2024, one of our team members joined the climb himself.

Both novice and expert climbers come together to summit this 14,179 foot peak as a collective effort to prevent breast cancer. They arrive as strangers connected by a shared cause. They leave as friends bonded through the climb as well as months of training and fundraising for the mission.

"This year's climb brought warm temperatures and excellent weather throughout the expedition. Fifteen of our twenty-four climbers reached the summit, while others celebrated personal high points ranging from 9,500 to 13,850 feet.

The softer snow conditions made for a slightly sluggish and slushy descent, but climbers were still able to enjoy glissading rather than making the full trek back down to base camp on foot."

For the past nine years, we've provided Merino gear for Climb Against the Odds participants. This year we outfitted the 24 mountain climbers with Aspect Merino base layers and Solstice Sun Hoodies to keep them comfortable as conditions changed throughout their climb.

In addition to the physical challenge of Mt. Shasta, the climbers have collectively raised more than $300,000 to support BCPP's work.

This year's climb is done, but the work never ends. You can support BCPP's mission directly. Every Ridge purchase gives back through our partnership with 1% for the Planet, so you're helping support BCPP throughout the year as well.
