The holidays are drawing near, and it's time to start shopping for the outdoor lovers on your list. To make the process easier, we've compiled a list of the 10 best holiday gifts under $100, featuring cold weather staples that will help ensure a safe and fun time outside.
1. Merino Wool Base Layers for Everyday
In the winter, Merino wool base layers provide much needed insulation under any outdoor clothing but can also be incorporated into your everyday attire. Choose from midweight tops for him and her in crew and 1/4 zip styles. We also have two pant styles for men, including a full-length and 3/4 length option; and a new high-waist version for women, which Backpacker Magazine called "The Best Cold Weather Base Layer of 2022." We've got several mix and match styles for the kiddos, too.

6. Merino Wool Neck Gaiter
Recently featured in Runner's World as The Best Cold Weather Neck Gaiter, "(the Ridge Merino) neck gaiter is warm and cozy, stays put, and keeps the chill at bay as you run. Besides providing unmatched warmth, Merino wool naturally resists odor-causing bacteria and wicks away moisture from sweat or breath vapor. You’ll appreciate the thickness of this gaiter’s double-layer construction when icy winds whip up and temperature drops."
In a pinch, this piece can be used as a face mask, as well. And because it rolls up small, it makes a great stocking stuffer.
7. Merino Wool Jogger
New this season, the Ridge Convict Canyon Jogger for him is a versatile must-have. It’s cut to look great as a slim jogger that can stand alone on a run, working out or just hanging around the house. It also doubles as an incredible a base layer under ski pants. The design features two streamlined zippered pockets to hold valuables without adding any bulk and internal-facing branded elastic waistband with drawcord to sit comfortably on the hips. What really makes this piece special is the Polartec® Power Wool™ fabric which utilizes a Merino wool grid knit construction on the inside providing a highly breathable and lightweight fabric that can provide surprising warmth despite the packable nature of the piece.

As soon as the temps drop, it's time to bust out the Merino wool socks. Different styles are ideal for different activities (check out our guide for what to wear when here). In the winter, mid-calf is a safe bet for everyday / running around town to keep your feet warm and dry. For more rigorous activities where technical boots are involved, look to the over-the-calf styles for more coverage. (Just like the Merino wool neck gaiter, socks make a great stocking stuffer.)
9. A Warm, Packable Headband
When warmth is a necessity and space is at a premium, it makes sense to pack a Merino wool headband. There's the Convict Canyon option, made from the same Polartec® Power Wool™ fabric as the jogger (mentioned above), and for even more warmth, go with the 100% Merino wool Inversion reversible style. (A headband is also a great stocking stuffer.)
10. Reuseable Water Bottle / Tumbler
Everyone needs an earth-friendly reusable water bottle, not just the outdoor lover. Enter the Ridge reusable water bottle and tumbler. Made in partnership with MiiR®, a design forward and generosity driven drinkware company with a social and environmental mission, these bottles feature Thermo 3D™ double wall vacuum insulation, so you can keep any beverage hot or cold for hours on end. 18/8 Medical grade stainless steel doesn't transfer flavor and there's no metal aftertaste. Both the snap-on lid and cup are BPA free.
